Here is your list of Bike Fun events and more. Love to see you on a ride soon! Bike Fun rides mostly go at a social pace, Some rides are off-road recreational, some are on-road mini-masses. Food and moderate alcohol consumption are often featured. We also list rides organised by others, usually with a link to their website.

South Morang to Alphington run with a stop in Bundoora Park.
There’s a total lunar eclipse on Oct 8th (visible between 7:15 and 8:55pm) Should get a good view from the Epping/Lalor flatlands…
There’ll be no opportunity to shop beforehand so come prepared with drinks nibbles and good conversation to share.
Catch the 6:05pm train from Flinders St station (last carriage) or meet us at South Morang.

Projector Bike leaves Testing Grounds and takes a ride through the city, leaving at 6.30pm and returning for a drink at the bar.

Let’s set sail on our two wheels for a nautical adventure as we ride from the EcoCentre St Kilda to Williamstown return. We’ll cross the Yarra River via the Punt and explore historic Williamstown. Option to meet at the Punt for those preferring a shorter option. Bring $7 for return Punt and $ for coffee break at Cafe Cirino. This ride will be less than 25km and will mainly follow bike paths. To celebrate the fourth Basil Sellers Art Prize at the Ian Potter Museum of Art, we are hosting a FREE guided bike tour of some of Melbourne’s greatest sporting and cultural venues, finishing up with an artist talk at the exhibition venue.
The Basil Sellers Art Prize defines sport in the broadest possible sense, this year the shortlisted artists are Tony Albert, Narelle Autio, Zoe Croggon, Gabrielle de Vietri, Ivan Durrant, Shaun Gladwell, Richard Lewer, William Mackinnon, Rob McHaffie, Noel McKenna, Rob McLeish, Fiona McMonagle, Raquel Ormella, Khaled Sabsabi, Jenny Watson and Gerry Wedd. An acquisitive prize of $100,000 was awarded to indigenous artist Tony Albert for his work Once upon a time … 2013-14
The tour will finish at the Museum with an artist talk by Ivan Durrant (featured), allowing participants to browse the exhibition and discuss the works together.
This tour is appropriate for confident riders and will take place on off road and on road bike lanes in traffic.
Bring some water, sunscreen and snacks, places limited to 22 participants.

A few times a year our local council Maribyrnong City Council run ‘Westside Discovery Tours’, a series of free tours for locals and visitors to introduce them to the secrets of Melbourne’s west side. (Read about some of their previous tours here and here).
New tours and now available for booking now and covers topics as diverse as art, history and food.
We have partnered up with Joyce from CycleStyle (also the brains behind the hugely popular blog MEL: HOT OR NOT) to lead a tour which combines her passion for food and cycling! We will be taking a small group on an 1.5 hour eating and cycling tour of Footscray, Joyce’s home and one of the most diverse and delicious suburbs in Melbourne.
PEDALLING FOOTSCRAY’S FOOD ICONS is a fun way to explore Footscray’s food culture – from doughnuts to goi cuon to cannoli. Bring your appetite and your bike and get ready to eat, shop and ride!

Come on a ride of discovery as The Squeaky Wheel presents the Melbourne Design Ride.
A guided bicycle tour of Melbourne’s design and architectural secrets, revealing the design history of our iconic and under appreciated buildings and public spaces.
Lead by Alice Lewis, Landscape Architect and Founder of Night Brigade, an award winning bicycle fashion line fusing fashion and function.
Bring a bottle of water, appropriate clothing, your camera and an open mind. The tour will cover approx 12km and run for 2.5 hours. Riding in traffic will be required, suitable for intermediate/experienced bike riders.

We are revisiting our partnership with the Office for Good Design to present more FREE design themed bike tours this spring.
See your city through the eyes of a designers LAB DE STU by bike, join us for a themed ride through carefully selected parts of Melbourne, starting and finishing at MPavilion.
MPavilion is a unique architecture commission and design event for Melbourne, initiated by the Naomi Milgrom Foundation with support from City of Melbourne and the Victorian State Government.
Each year for the next four years an outstanding architect will be commissioned to design a temporary pavilion for the Queen Victoria Gardens, in the centre of the vibrant Southbank Arts Precinct.

The ride from Eltham down Diamond Creek and along the Main Yarra Trail is one of the best in Melbourne, and especially beautiful by the light of a full moon.
It’s one of our favourites, so come along and bring some food or drink to share at the midway picnic and join in a bit of urban camping within coo-ee of the city at an almost-secret location. byo tent etc.
Catch the 6:19pm Hurstbridge train from Flinders St Station (Platform 1, last carriage).
It’s mainly off-road on a fairly good quality track. There are various points where railway stations can be reached for an early bail-out, including Fairfield, or ride all the way back into the City via Westgarth, Fitzroy and East Melbourne.
