Details

Australia’s biggest bike ride, United Energy Around the Bay, on Sunday 8 October will be a game-changer for riders of all ages and cycling levels from the Family Ride to the iconic 220km classic and the exclusive 300km club.

The 2023 ride will be safer and feature more entertainment at the Albert Park start/finish line.

Those taking part in the Family Ride will also enjoy more peaceful pedalling, with fully closed roads around Albert Park Lake to offer riders of all abilities a separated route for traffic-free family fun.

Since its inception in 1993, Around the Bay has been run by Bicycle Network and become a rite of passage for seasoned cyclists, colleagues, families and friends. Over 10,000 bike riders are expected to take part in what is Australia’s biggest and best one day cycling event.

The event’s official charity partner for 2023 is Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision. The organisation, founded in honour of Maddie Riewoldt, who was just 26 years old when she tragically died from a Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome, funds vital research to accelerate diagnosis and treatment, while supporting patients and their families with counselling, education and resources.

The available rides are Family Ride, 50km, 100km, 135km (Geelong start), 200km, the classic 220km loop and 300km ride distances, with free entry available for children under 15 for the Family and 50km rides.
