A global movement reducing the barriers to cycling

CycleHack focuses on bringing people and their places together to discuss and generate solutions to barriers that stop or inhibit people from cycling.

Through a variety of activities, we bring together a diverse range of people with different skill sets and experiences to look at cycling in a new way. During the weekend you will come up with ideas and prototypes with the help of our industry experts. These prototypes can be physical, digital or even policy based. Friday’s event at RMIT’s Design Hub with 4 industry speakers is FREE, but we would be happy if you could leave a small donation when you book your tickets. Saturday-Sunday hacking event costs $30 per person to cover the vital lunch & snacks that will keep you energised the whole day.

Cyclehack is also run in several other cities – Glasgow, Tokyo, Milan, Sydney, Vancouver, San Fransisco, Bangalore, Amsterdam etc. – at the same time so you will be joining a global event, all working together to make cycling easier. After the event all ideas will be uploaded online for the world to share. See our video from last year’s event: https://vimeo.com/110318111 and one of the ideas that is currently looking for funding through crowdsourcing: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/penny-in-yo-pants#/story

This year’s event is co-organised with RMIT’s and Swinburne University’s Industrial Design Programs.
