Deep South Full Moon Ride

Start: Wed, 04 Feb 2015
Time: 7:00 pm
Finish: 11:00 pm
Meeting place: Seaford Railway Station

Details

Summer is when we reprise many of our favourite coastal rides. This ride can be long or short – up to you. We start at Seaford Railway station (join the 6:06 Frankston Train at Flinders Street or meet us at Seaford). We follow the mainly off-road parkland route up to Mordialloc, and being summer will see the Seaford Wetlands in daylight.  Mordialloc Station is a bail-out point if you want a short ride and an early night, otherwise continue with us along the beach paths. Another train station is passed at Brighton Beach, or else continue along the bay, then up Fitzroy St, Albert Park Lake and into the City from there.

The most fun you can have on two wheels! Bike Rave weaves through the streets of the city pumping out tunes from loud, bass heavy sound bikes. If you came last year, you know what we are talking about, if you’ve never been before…you are in for a treat.

Welcome to the Bike Rave 2015, there are a few things that you need to do to make this rave awesome.

THE MUSIC:
We have curated a 5 hour mix from some very talented producers for this Bike Rave. The mix is full of pumping party tunes to keep you dancing all night long.

Mix download coming soon! Check back for updates.

Need sound for your bike? Get a basket and some computer speakers, or head to Jaycar, JB-HIFI, etc up a self contained set. There are some great solutions from $15, and some pretty impressive creations. Just remember to charge those batteries.

BRIGHT LIGHTS:
Nothing makes a rave better than the input of the people. So this is one time that I recommend dressing up full fluoro whilst riding your bike.

Think bright lights, reflective jackets, crazy hair, glow sticks, EL wire, or anything else that flashes and blinks. This isn’t just about making sure that you look awesome, make sure your bike is pimped out also.

Everyone knows somewhere that sells this kind of stuff, so if you find someplace cool, let us know.

THE ROUTE:
We’ll be gathering at 8:00pm at Birrarung Marr (The Angel) and launching at 9:00pm sharp. We’ve planned a few stops along the way to do some dancing and find / lose your friends:

More route info coming soon!

THE WEATHER:
If its nice out, we ride. If it’s cloudy, we ride. If its raining a little, we might ride. If it’s pouring, we don’t ride. Our speakers will get messed up. If you aren’t sure, show up anyways. Someone will be there from 7:30pm to let people know if the ride is cancelled.

BikeRave was founded in Vancouver but is shared around the world. When an image is uploaded to instagram with #bikeravemelbourne you will see it here!

IMPORTANT!
We are not responsible for your safety; YOU ARE!
We have done our best to ensure that the route is well lit and safe, but it does involve a little riding on the road and in the dark and past people. We should attempt to obey all traffic laws. If we get split up, we can rejoin at one of the several stopping points along the ride, so please stop at red lights and stop signs.

EVERYTHING ELSE
If you would like to get involved with you can send us a message here on the facebook, and we will get back to you as soon as we can. If you have a serious sound bike, get in touch, we will spread you out along the ride. If you want to take photos or film the event, come along!

Bike ravers around the world unite!
